No matter how busy you are, your bedroom is a place where you can go to at the end of a long day to relax. A place where you feel comfortable and where you spend the happiest moments of your life. Colours have a great impact on our feelings. So it's important to give some thought to the colours you choose for your bedroom. There are many colours to choose from, from fresh, light colours to robust, dark shades. Each colour has its own effect.

Because everyone is different and has different tastes and needs, Auping has put together a carefully crafted palette with an extensive variety of colours. We paid special attention to the mood that the colours evoke and whether the colours encourage to relax.

Auping offers endless possibilities for designing your favourite bed. Therefore, each colour in our colour palette has been carefully selected to complement our fabric collection for easy mixing and matching.

The colour schemes range from elegant basics to bold eyecatchers. There are no garish or sharp colours, and there's a good reason for that - we want our colours to bring a feeling of calmness and relaxation into the bedroom and inspire sweet dreams.

Pure white

Associated with cleanliness and simplicity, white gives your bedroom a fresh look.  And this feeling of freshness will help you get a solid night’s sleep.
Our Pure White is a bright white with a warm undertone. After all, you don't want your bedroom to look too white or feel clinical.

White is always a good choice. It's the perfect base colour to build upon in any bedroom. Using different shades of whites will transform your bedroom into a place where you can be creative and your thoughts can freely wander.

Deep black

Black gives a classy and calming feel. Black is a colour with many different gradations, from matte and pale blacks to deep black.

When applied to different materials, this versatile colour will add richness and character to your bedroom. The Auping fabric collection provides a fantastic mix of black fabrics that perfectly match the shades of Auping Deep Black.

Cool grey

Blue and grey tones bring a sense of calmness to your bedroom. Our Cool Grey is a soothing shade with a blue undertone. The blue adds freshness without making the grey cool.
Auping Cool Grey is like a chameleon. It's a colour that adapts to any environment and that is very easy to apply.

Warm grey

Our Warm Grey is an accessible, warm colour. This quartz grey adds instant comfort and cosiness to your bedroom.  The colour also blends effortlessly with other colours.
It is a warm colour that it is versatile enough to go with fresher and cooler shades. Warm Grey will give your bedroom the look that will last for years to come. Combine with wool fabrics for additional depth and richness.

Clay

Clay is a soothing, fresh and light green colour that pairs beautifully with other shades of grey.
This nature-inspired colour works extremely well with natural materials like ceramics, stonewashed linen or more rugged, knitted fabrics.

Mix different clay-coloured shades to create a natural oasis of calm within your bedroom.
Or use earthy shades for a more subdued atmosphere. You can play with colour combinations to your heart's content. These colours are never loud, never disharmonious, but always subtle and soothing.

Forest green

Bring nature into your bedroom with Forest Green. A robust dark green shade, inspired by long walks in pine forests.

Combine with other darks colours for a graciously understated atmosphere. You can also use this colour as a statement in an all-white room.  Or, if you want to add a touch of sparkle and excitement, pair this powerful green with a powder or beige pink for an utterly contemporary look.

Green is a colour that is associated with nature and thus brings out feelings of tranquillity.

Blush

Blush is a fresh and bold colour in the Auping spectrum. A shade of pink that isn't bright, but dusky and subtle. It is a pure colour with a matte finish.

Combine Blush with other, natural colours or beautiful pale oak for a soft colour palette in your bedroom. Blush also works well as a bold statement in combination with vibrant colours like sea green and white.

Coral Red

Make a statement and go for Coral Red, a colour that will make your bed stand out.
This deep coral red is not loud, but full and energising. We added a drop of grey to take away some of the brightness, which ensures your bedroom's colour is never loud.

Create a classic, dark bedroom by using heavy materials and colours like dark wooden floors combined with red accents.  Or keep it fresh and modern by combining Coral Red with some vibrant spicy colours. Just turn to your spice rack for inspiration.

Rusty red

Rusty red is an earthy, rusty, red-brown colour. A warm glow that you can find in brick or the colour of Australian soil. Earthy tones are calming and therefore very suitable for bedrooms and bathrooms.

Green colours are complimentary to red colours. They are opposites in the colour wheel. As complementary colours, they naturally go together. So make up your Rusty red bed in fresh linens, opt for light flooring and add some green accessories as a finishing touch for a bedroom that oozes Zen and relaxation.

Night blue

Our favourite, the ultimate Auping colour. After all, it is the colour of the night. Our Night Blue is a dark and deep shade of blue, inspired by the black of the night.
Elegant and versatile, it can be used to add freshness to white bedrooms or a classic twist when combined with dark wooden floors. Or mix and match different blue tones and add brown accents, such as a chestnut chair, for a playful touch.

Colours that are good for the world around us

All of our wooden beds are varnished with water-based lacquer, which means that they contain almost no solvents which could strain the environment. Each varnish colour has its own pipe. This may sound unnecessary, but it means that we don’t need to keep rinsing them, thus wasting less varnish and less water.

Our steel and aluminium beds are painted with powdered paint, a process also referred to as 'powder coating'. Powder coating is an (electrostatic) painting process that makes steel wear-resistant and colourful. During this process no solvents are used which could strain the environment.  This is how we care for the world around us.
