Design Beds

Ever since Auping was founded in 1868, innovative design has been at the heart of our business. Our range of beds includes modern designer beds and timeless design classics. We make our designer beds in collaboration with well-known, international designers such as the designer duo Kohler & Wilms, Frans de la Haye and Eva Harlou.

The Original bed is one of those design classics. Created in 2007, the design was inspired by the Cleopatra: one of Auping's very first design classics, designed by Dick Cordemeijer.
The Auronde has also been around for many years. Chances are that you have seen this bed before, because more than a million Aurondes have been sold in the Netherlands. This design bed was designed in 1973 by Frans de la Haye. Characteristic is the birch wood bed frame combined with the contrasting or matching color aluminum eyelets.

Besides classics, you can also find modern design beds at Auping. For example, how about the Noa bed, the newest bed in the Auping collection, created by designer Eva Harlou. This bed has a Scandinavian design and is made of natural materials. The bed has a beautiful, simple shape and features clever details such as the handy Noa table that can be used multifunctionally. 

The Essential bed is a special design bed in our range. In fact, this is the world's first fully recyclable bed, designed by Berlin designer duo Kohler & Wilms. With its refined and minimalist design, the bed fits into any room. 
 

Many beds in our collection have won several design awards. In 2014, for example, the Auping Original was awarded the Good Industrial Design award. In addition to the design, the function, originality and innovation of the Original bed was also highly appreciated.

The Essential bed won several design awards such as the Red Dot Design Award in 2021 and the IF Product Design Award in 2013. The Essential bed also received the "Good Industrial Design" award, the most important recognition for industrial design products.
