For more than 130 years, Auping has been designing the very best ways of resting. And for good reason. We believe a well-rested world, is a better world. A beautiful world. Every single bed is made with care and attention to details, the environment and the future. Our brand values:
The mood in your bedroom has a great influence on a good night's sleep.
Auping has been excelling in design for years. The results are both contemporary and timeless with high-quality design which you can combine and vary endlessly. Auping not only strives for personal and aesthetic sleeping comfort but also for high-quality. With Auping, lasting quality, design and innovation go hand in hand.
We turn on average 30 times per night in our sleep. And we lose about 350 cc of perspiration. For optimal sleeping comfort it is very important that a bed supports your body and is well ventilated.
With an Auping bed you will start the day well rested and full of energy, and this will most likely continue for the rest of your life. Auping offers sleeping comfort at the highest level and combines years of expertise with the newest developments, that enable the beds to give optimal support and provide excellent ventilation.
Durability according to Auping
We are aware of the increasing scarcity of energy, minerals and resources and its impact on the environment.
Auping enters into a lasting relationship with the surroundings, the environment, and the individual.
We strive to have all company processes, products and services sustainable in which we base our policy on three pillars:
Thanks to a fundamental review of the production processes and the new production facility and sewing facility, Auping has gained tremendously in the fields of durability, flexibility and short delivery times for bespoke products. As an innovative, trend-setting Dutch company, Auping is ready for the future. A future in which everything will revolve around the highest sleeping comfort in order to offer an energetic lifestyle to every consumer.
In 1988 Auping received this special award. The designation “Royal” symbolises the respect, appreciation and confidence of the King toward the entitled party. Only the King can grant this predicate.
At the start of the seventies Auping breaks open the market with a revolutionary model: The Auronde, a design from Frans de la Haye. Timeless, durable, versatile, comfortable. A bestseller that is still very popular today.
Auping is no longer stretching length wise but across the width. Because of this innovation Auping can now also offer adjustable bed bases. They were hand operated in the beginning, but soon became electric.
The turning point comes in 1953. Auping halts production of dozens of out of date products and focuses on mass production. The Cleopatra, designed by Dick Coremeijer is born and is a huge success. Auping has found its niche within the quickly changing post-war Netherlands.
On New Year's day management changes for the first time in 44 years. Willem Auping passes on the family company to his sons Albert and Leo. They take the young economist Frans Savenije on board who will later become the third management member. Even though Albert and Leo are the last Aupings in management, the company stays within the family.
Innovative for its time: The foldable Auping bed. Space is a rare commodity in Dutch houses and the bed is an immediate hit.
Auping becomes too big for the small Deventer inner city. The company builds a new factory and office at the later Laan van Borgele. On 7 February 1912, the four year old Albert Auping places the first stone. At that time nobody can predict that he will be in the company's management forty years later. And the stone he placed? That will be moved about hundred years later to the de Maagdenburgstraat.
Johannes Auping receives a large order from the St. Geertruiden Hospital. They choose Auping because of its decent forging and band steel bases. Between 1885 and 1887, Auping makes all the beds for this new Deventer hospital.
Johannes Auping starts his own forgery in 1888 in the inner city of Deventer. He mostly focuses on the production of stoves and cookers. This forgery is the seed for the modern Koninklijke Auping B.V.
