Auping X Niaga®

Knowing that most mattresses end up in landfill and incineration, Auping and Niaga® joined forces back in 2017 to take on the challenge of developing the world’s first circular mattress. We were successful. Niaga® brought in its material science and design expertise to complement Auping’s promise of the highest sleep quality and comfort. The circular mattress that ensued consisted of just two materials, polyester and steel.

Due to Niaga® technology, the steel and polyester can be decoupled and reused at the end of a mattress’s use cycle. As such, it enables mattress refurbishment to extend life and eventually high-quality mattress-to-mattress recycling. This is a true revolution in the industry as it keeps valuable materials around for future generations. We have been using Niaga® technology in all of our circular mattresses since.

At Niaga®, we are future-proofing everyday products by making sure materials don't have to end up as waste. Ever. Together with our partners, we design out waste, completely. We design to use again. So far, we have developed mattresses, carpet, and furniture panels. They are healthier and fully recyclable, without compromising on performance.
