Dutch Design Awards honors the very best Dutch designs from the past year. This involves designs that are distinguished in various areas: in first place by relevance and impact, but also the extent to which they relate to their own field. From new cross-overs and collaborations, to craftsmanship and materialization, a stimulating approach or an attractive appearance.
The jury of the Dutch Design Awards (DDA) 2020 has nominated Auping Evolve in the category Product. We are proud of this nomination and grateful for their beautiful words.
“Royal Auping shows that a rich history and innovation can go hand in hand and makes a huge impact with such a tangible consumer product. It shows the importance of design-led system change at this scale.”

The jury consisting of independent Dutch design experts judged and selected the winners based on the following criteria: impact, distinctive character, expressiveness and production method. The other nominations in this category are “The Interceptor” by The Ocean Cleanup in collaboration with Fabrique and ”The object is absent” by curators Alexandre Humbert, Lucas Maassen, Tom Loois and Angelique Spaninks.
The final winner of the category Product will be announced in the DDA Award Show on ddw.com on 23 October at 4 p.m. In this show program maker Isolde Hallensleben will take a closer look at the nominated designers and their projects.
In addition, all DDA 2020 projects of both the nominees and the winners can be viewed online in special 3D exhibitions as part of the Dutch Design Week. At the beginning of 2021, a physical overview exhibition will also be organized – if possible.
DDA has been leading in the recognition of excellent Dutch design for years. The aim of the organization goes much further than rewarding the best design: DDA wants the discussion about Dutch design to continue. And to facilitate exchanges between designers and curators, audience and professionals with openness and curiosity. In order to continue to emphasize the desired impact of design on society and to contribute to the development of the profession. www.dutchdesignawards.nl
